There are always those items that you don't think of until the minute you need them. Don't get caught empty-handed without presents or without wrapping materials! Here's a list of a few items that might just save your holiday party or even your social life.
 

At Home...

Batteries Having batteries handy can make or break your Christmas morning. Most toys for kids need AA, AAA, or C batteries but some do not come with batteries included. To avoid a Christmas morning meltdown, have a package or two handy.

Gift Tags Come Christmas Eve, you don't want to be stuck without a vital part of the wrapping process? You can get a packet of gift tags at Wal-Mart or Target for a really good price. If it comes to it, you can always use cardstock and ribbons.

Wrapping Tape Wrapping gifts without tape is, well, impossible. Duct tape isn't really acceptable in most cases, so make sure you have plenty of tape to wrap all of your presents.

At The Office...

Gift Cards Unsure what to get your coworker or boss? How about those people you just forgot? While you're out doing your other shopping or even just out to eat, grab a gift card or two, just to have handy. Great for birthdays, garbage workers, and postal workers too!

Coffee Giftbaskets For any coffee lover or that one coworker who always takes the last of the coffee and never refills the pot, a giftbasket can be a unique gift. You can get a seasonal mug and put a bag of flavored or seasonal coffee in it. Add a bow and tag and you're the hero of the morning.

Candles A scented candle can be a nice back-up gift for a lady, be it your boss or your sister-in-law. Yankee Candle has a large selection of season scents that would be appropriate Christmas gifts.
